How you will make an impact - Description of the Opportunity:
The Senior Workforce Development & Industry Partnerships Coordinator is a strategic convener and relationship coordinator responsible for fostering and sustaining partnerships with industry leaders, chambers of commerce, economic development corporations, and educational institutions. This role leads cross-sector collaboration to align workforce development efforts with regional economic priorities and serves as the primary lead for the development and coordination of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship initiatives. The Coordinator will build and support industry councils, drive talent pipeline solutions, and manage initiatives that address both immediate and future workforce needs and economic development through innovative, scalable strategies and collaboration with other WSNCT units and staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead Regional Industry Sector Partnerships: Serve as the primary liaison and convener for targeted growth industries, fostering collaboration among employers, workforce boards, educational institutions, and economic development entities to develop action plans to guide the implementation of workforce and economic development strategies.
- Develop and Expand Apprenticeship Initiatives: Serve as the regional lead for USDOL and Texas apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship program development. Facilitate industry engagement, stakeholder partnership development, identify and secure funding, and track outcomes that address regional workforce and economic development current and future needs.
- Manage Strategic Alliances and Cross-Sector Collaborations: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with chambers of commerce, economic development corporations (EDCs). Collaborate with WSNCT education, community, and workforce delivery partners to ensure alignment and execution of goals, metrics, and implementation of workforce solutions.
- Promote Talent Pipeline Development: Identify, map, promote, and support career pathway programs and credentialing initiatives that meet target occupations and industry needs. Champion stackable credentials and career pathway models that support career advancement.
- Design and Implement Scalable Workforce Solutions: Lead and support the design, launch, and scaling of initiatives identified through industry councils and collaborative partnerships, including those focused on recruitment, upskilling, reskilling, and job placement for high demand and emerging occupations.
- Resource Development and Grant Support: Identify, pursue, and support funding opportunities that align with partnership goals, including apprenticeships and other industry-driven programs. Prepare proposals and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Communication and Engagement: Develop and deliver presentations, marketing materials, and stakeholder communications that clearly convey regional workforce and economic development initiatives, challenges, successes, and ROI to stakeholders and the public. Represent the organization in public and partner forums. Provide directions aligned with goals and deliverables to contractor staff focused on industry and economic development efforts.
- Strategic Insight and Data-Driven Decision Making: Act as a regional industry and economic development workforce subject matter expert by analyzing labor market data, identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Policy and Research Support: Monitor workforce and economic development relevant policy and legislative developments; contribute to reports, prepare summaries, and briefings to inform internal planning and partner engagement.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Established network within economic development field
- Experience in establishing relationships and developing collaborative efforts with employers
- Experience in grant development
- Working knowledge of data research and analysis
- Deep understanding of the career and technical and post-secondary educational systems
- Excellent writing skills
FLSA: Exempt
Compensation:
$70,795.00 – $83,000.00 - depending on experience, skills and qualifications
